The most interesting part is if they managed to create a decent address book? this was a very weak point in comparison with their competition.
did you check it Orli?

Orly, did they fix the Hebrew RTL issue ?
the issue is that
you can't use the English interface
to write proper Hebrew RTL mails.

please try to send a Hebrew RTL msg from the new ENGLISH interface,
and see if when it is received
on mail clients such as outlook or any other, the Hebrew is RTL and understandable.

Thanks !

I assume one needs to confirm usage of Google's experimental features, in order to see the described changes.
Great post, thanks.

I have the new version in my primary Gmail account but not in my secondaries; I think my experimental feature is clicked on. Trashing of checked messages from the inbox list is conspicuously faster than old version. Turning off highlighting after reading a searched message might be a little slow (empty green message box for a very short time). So far, I like the new version better than the old one.

I saw the link in Firefox 2.0+, but IE6 has nothing. Is this normal?

New version for Safari doesn't seem to want to autofill NON-gmail address contacts. If I click "older version" on the top, then non-gmail contacts will autofill again. Weird and annoying.
