Jamendo: Free Legal Music Downloads

Jamendo offers free access and free download of music tracks, published with Creative Commons licences. On Jamendo the artists choose to give the users free access to their music, and as long as they do so, it's considered legal of course.
Jamendo is not a new service, they used to allow their users to browse through thousands of albums and listen to free music online. Back then, if a user wished to download an album, Jamendo usually offered him a direct link to eMule or BitTorrent. Now, with the new policy, and a new design, a user can download mp3 files for free, legally and without limitation. Download links via eMule and BitTorrent are still available.
The site is a paradise for Music lovers! You can find in Jamendo any kind of music you like and listen to good music for hours! Search available through an album/artist name or through tags that added by other users. When you find something you like, you can play it directly from the site, download a zip file with the whole album or download individual MP3 file, from any album you choose. Also, create playlist with your favorite music, rate, review, comment, and meet friends with same music taste.

However, you can't embed a song on your blog, nor to share it on social networks, but you can share a direct download link with anyone you'd like, via Jamendo email form.
The artists on Jamendo can earn money if the users choose to make a donation with a minimum of 5 EUR or Dollars.
Here are some cool statistics:
6145 published albums
58947 album reviews
219830 active members.

I don't know whether you can embed a song on a blog, because I've never tried it. But you can certainly embed an album. See:

Thanks for the heads up on Jamendo. Now the RIAA are suing those who download music illegally I prefer to stick to independent artists. Another good site for free legal music downloads is Foxtunes. If you like soul, jazz and rhythm and blues I highly recommend it.
