Discover New Music with SONGRIO

A quick recommendation:

If you'd like to discover good music - Try Songrio.
It's a nice site that allows you to upload, listen and rate songs.

Just navigate between the genres and find your favorites songs. Songrio also showing you a list of ‘Top 5’song on the main page or you can use their search engine if you look for something specific. Most likely that you'll easily find what you're looking for.

I actually like this site layout, very pleasant on the eyes. Songrio player is simple yet satisfactory.

You can comment on a song or add a link to your facebook account or del.icio.us but you don't have the ability (yet?) to embed a song to your blog. resembles service that do let you embed songs to your site is iJigg.

Discover new music is always a treat for me.

Build any Widget with Beon RSS Factory!

Beon is a project to create a "method" for developing widgets on a quick and simple way. The widgets are independent, you do not need to download a platform like in "Yahoo Engine".
All you need is:
Windows 2000, 2003, XP and,
Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0

Beon applications lets you establish a direct link between your computer and any Internet resource. I like the idea behind the name "beon" - It's the result of combining the English words "Be On", which mean being online of course.

Close mode:

Open mode:

I have to admit, I'm hooked!
I've been playing with Beon Rss Factory for hours and I just can't get enough. It's absolutely great application. Very easy and fan to use. I just hope they will add the ability to grab a code for your blog or webpage because for now you can only use it for your personal needs. (unless beon will decide to add my widgets on their gallery to enable other people to download them)

As I've said, the platform is really great, clean and pretty and you can choose ot change:
1) the header color
2) text header color
3) text header content
4) body background color
5) body text color (post titles)
6) logo image of your blog or web site
In each case the system will open a popup window where you can change the details using the form fields and color palette.

I think the bottom line is what you get:
Free widgets on your desktop that looks cool, works fast and have great usability.
You built it, It's your own favorites content - Wonderful deal.

All you need is your desirable RSS links and you can start have fun with this Factory Tool.
Oh.. you might have to need some free time too..

*I had some issues with some RSS links from digg and other blogs that I wanted to add, even mine. I really hope that the Beon team will fix this problem soon.

Simon Willison Explains how OpenID works

OpenID is a simple single sign-on mechanism that allows you to login at multiple websites with the same identity.

Here's a good video that explains, how OpenID works.

You can find services that already (and will), support, OpenID in these two
TechCrunch posts.

A word about Simon Willison, After I saw his great presentation at the FOWA-07 last week, I just have to say that this is how you should address your service if you have one.
If you own a startup, you should really try to find Simon's presentation. The way he talks, with so much passion, will not leave you apathetic to this service.

Now I'm Ready to add SNAP Previews

I have to admit, I had some issues with Snap Preview Anywhere service.
I like to be unique and with the old Snap, I felt like everyone has the same feature. Moreover, sometimes it bugged me to see Snap Preview Anywhere bubble jump with every mouse move on a link or icon..

But bygone that.. I'm taking my words back and asking you to try Snap Preview Anywhere - If you're not one of the 600,000 users that already use Snap on their site or blog.

So what's new and what's make the different?

  • You can choose your own color theme
  • You can add your logo to the Preview bubble
  • You can choose to include a Snap Link Icon and Trigger (similar to the experience on TechCrunch and here)
  • You can also choose to put a Snap Preview Anywhere Badge on your site to give your users the option to turn on previews (in this case previews will be off by default to all users, unless the individual user chooses to turn them on)

  • Also. Snap allow end-users a greater control on the experience - using the Options menu on every preview window, end users could easily change the time before the preview window shows or disable previews.

So, if you familiar with what's going on with the web today, you can't ignore the fact that Snap Preview Anywhere is a very powerful application.
Now it looks like Snap simply took all the comments and the feedback and improved their bubble by publishing a major update with cool features on it and I like it! I like the way you can customize and personalize the look and behavior of Snap on your web page or blog.

    Go2web20 Relaunched!

Go2web20 relaunched 2 days ago, with exciting new features!

Following the initial announcement of the relaunch on TechCrunch, we were fortunate or unfortunate to suffer from the "TechCrunch effect", and were not available for a while due to the massive traffic from Mike's blog. We've fixed what needed to be fixed, and everything is up and running again. Sorry about that!

Here is what we rolled out in this relaunch:

    • Code redesign for faster and smoother experience
    • UI redesign
    • More information on each application using Ajax (Blogsphere news, tags, service status)
    • Tools – Web 2.0 Book (printable version), Firefox extension for quick access to the site.

But here is the really big thing: We've created the Go2Web20 plugin tool that provides each and every application with the ability to add their own widget in the application panel. So now the application value and benefits to the user can be exposed directly through the Go2Web20 application information panel!

This feature is one of our advertising option .

For example, if you'll write in the search box the name YEDDA, and click on their logo, you'll see inside the panel their cool all into one widget that looks like that:

That gives you the option to explore YEDDA right from their panel at our application.

See more examples at the screenshots below:

As you can see, we're trying to make Go2web20 as useful and interesting as it can be. We feel that the Go2Web20 plugin is a big step in this direction! Applications can add functionality, RSS, videos, links, anything that can fit inside a 190x180 IFrame (hosted on the application site).

Another feature that we've worked hard on is to make the application faster and smoother and you'll notice that the searching and navigation is a real pleasure, fun and easy to use.

    Future plans

We have lots of features in our future plans, some are under development. We are releasing now without these features to let you enjoy it, but we have no problem letting you know about these plans:

    • User ratings, including sorting by rating
    • Collecting personal favorites, sharing them in a personal URL, showing off using a widget…
    • Permalink to application, tag, search ,user’s favorites, etc…
    • Unique! We are working on a dynamic screensaver that exposes random and new services and keeps the user updated passively.

    So stay tuned for that!

BTW, have you notice the sound in the applicaion? :)

    One Click Photo Fixing

Picnick is a cool new service that allows anyone to edit photos online.
Fix underexposed photos, crop, rotate, remove red eyes, or apply effects to your photos.

Get photos from your computer, your flickr or anyone flickrs, from variety of searches and even right from your webcam. Also you can save your creation as a flickr slid-show, send it by email or save it to your own machine .

    Easily go from this situation:

    To this attractive look:

Picnik is really quick and easy to use but lots of effect features are still missing (coming soon) so it's limiting your work.

    I prefer PNX8 for now..
