Google Friend Connect for Blogger Users
Tweet
Just a quick note to update you with an upcoming Google's Friend Connect Following feature:
Blogger team is quickly fully integrating Friend Connect, so that Blogger users will ultimately have the superset of features Friend Connect provides. With the new Following feature, Blogger users are able to stay updated with favorite blogs and readers can easily follow their blog. Your dashboard now show you how many followers each of your blogs has. With a click on the followers icon, you can browse your followers, see what blogs they write, and read the other blogs they’re following.
Blogger members can add the new "Followers" gadget to their blog (from their blog layout), and show-off their followers to the world. The followers gadget shows the profile pictures of your followers and gives your readers a “Follow This Blog” link to join up too.
Your followers can also stay updated with your (the author) "Reading List" (blogs that you follow). The new "Blogs I’m Following" tab, automatically shows the latest posts from all the blogs you follow:

If you're a Google Reader user, you'll see a special folder in the Reader called "Blogs I'm Following" This is a dynamic folder, full of the subscriptions of the blogs you follow.
The new gadget to be rolled out to ALL, over the next few weeks!

It's awesome features for blogger.com. It's till now on beta version. Hope soon they will open it for all.
Thanks
awww...and this comes just a few weeks after I moved mine to WordPress :)
This might have affected my decision.
Hey Rebkin, build your friends in both communities, wordpress and blogger.
I'm looking forward to including this in some of my oldest blogger blogs!
Many other services had sprung up to fill this niche, and I love them all still, but the onsite friend connections within Blogger will be a much bigger hit!
I wonder if we'll be able to 'tag' our friends in our blog posts?
Thanks for the heads-up!
Doug
I had to come back and read this one more time. This doesn't mean that we will get that nifty box that Orli has, does it?! Meaning..the box with the comments..
Same Google Friend Connect on my site AND on my Blogger blog - -Possible?
I know this might not be exactly the right place to ask this question, but I've been googling the solution without success for 2 days and I'm beginning to go nuts.
It's a simple question - I have GFC on my site
http://www.real-english.com/
It works fine.
I want to have the same Google Friend Connect on my new Blogger Blog
http://the-original-real-english.blogspot.com/
WITH my existing members. But when I add the widget to Blogger in the normal way, I am the only member. The other 400 members are not present.
I tried copying my "successful code" used on my site to Blogger, and that didn't work, so I tried tweaking the code in an attempt to understand the error message
"We're sorry...
This gadget is configured incorrectly. Webmaster hint: Please ensure that "Friend Connect Settings - Home URL" matches the URL of this site."
Any ideas? Boy, would I be grateful!
Mike Marzio
