New Applications on Gmail Labs
Tweet

It's great to see that Gmail Labs application list is getting longer. In fact, I've mentioned here before that my guessing is that Google is going toward the ability to allow just about everyone to write a Gmail application (right now you can only suggest one, or join the Google team to be able to actually write the code)
Currently you can see applications that can help you make a better Gmail using their own data. What I want to see is that Google actually accept applications such: Remember The Milk and Xoopit, or any other tool that can be easily integrated in to Gmail, and enables them regardless of Firefox.
Anyway, this is how I see the future of Webmail platforms: A mail box that contains index of applications in a variety of categories that we can easily install and use.
I just hope Google is going in this direction.

This article talks about the same concept. Your web life starts and ends in your inbox, so why not bring it all in there?

Google always improve their web applications from time to time.
hi Orli,
read your 14.05.09 article in TheMarker.
being a consultant, it would b "nice" to state the 2 basic prerequisites for Labs, namely:
1) use of IE 7.0+ (MS-wise), AND
2) use of newer version of Gmail
or at least give the link that does give this info < http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=143242>
