A Much Richer Twitter Search Engine

Usually, when a company gets acquired, it takes a while until they release new features. We all loved Summize (Twitter search) at first, but the more you use it, the more you find it lacks the features needed to complete your entire search experience. Luckily, there's a new search engine in town called Twazzup. At first glance, it looks like the service is an element mashup, borrowing from Twitter/Twitter search and Friendfeed, but the beauty is that it actually gives you the full spectrum to fulfill all your search needs.

For example, if you'll look for your name (in order to see all replies & retweets) you get the updates in real-time, but unlike Twitter search, you can choose to pause this feature. You'll also find all the relevant information about your tweet behavior for the last few days - i.e., Popular tweets, related photos, most popular links etc. I love the focus on the people who help in making a trend trendy - the trendmaker.

In addition you see all the related tags associated with your query. This exposes you to new content based on your interests. You can replay, retweet, and view the original tweet from within this search engine. Twazzup also integrates blip.fm so you can listen to tracks from the service itself. When searching for the term "Twitpic," you'll see a preview of the picture before you open it. And finally, the service enables you to watch any video that someone tweets right on spot. I guess there are probably more features I haven't yet seen, but please go ahead and try it yourself, you'll see the difference immediately.

Too bad, there's not a single word about the service or who created to be found...

Hi Orly, Up until a few months ago I really enjoyed reading your blog (and it's still on my netvibes front-page), but lately your blog have become "everything twitter and nothing else";
As a very involved individual in the internet arena in Israel (which as I understand - your primary audience), and not a twitter user - I urge you to get back reporting on other start-ups, events, and great platforms you encounter, and not just about twitter.
Thanks, and keep up the good work carrying the web2.0 flag,
Noam.
