Two Glorious and Free Instagram Apps for the iPad

While most of us using Instagram from the iPhone or Android, I personally found it easier to use it from the iPad. First of all, in terms of user experience, it is much more enjoyable to browse pictures from a bigger screen. Let's say you check your Instagram once a day (or a week) but you still don't want to miss any of your friends pictures, it makes more sense to just open your iPad and see more pictures at one glance.

If you don't have an iPad, you can still get a better experience from websites like: http://statigr.amhttp://extragr.amhttp://web.stagram.com,
http://www.gramfeed.com, and there are plenty more tools to choose from over the net.

But if you do have an iPad, I highly recommend that you use one of these two great apps:

Podgram - Allows people to view, like and comment on photos just like in Instagram. View your own feed, search photos by tags or location, subscribe to tags, share photos on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, and email, or save to Poket for later. You can also easily save photos to your camera roll. What seems like an interesting feature is the ability to print   a photo as a postcard, including delivery and billing (using Sincerely) directly from Podgram.

Overall, a useful app that is dead simple to understand.

It still amazes me how the Pinterest layout improves visual content display. Like it or not, it is pretty awesome when other services understand this has proven to be a better way of showcasing visual elements. With this in mind, Pictacular takes Instagram and present it like Pinterest where you can see a larger view of photos with likes and comments. You can do all your Instagram activity same as on the iPhone, with no additional features, just with a real better photo navigation. For example, one thing that bugs me on Instagram today is that you can't browse pictures scrolling left or right. With Pictacular, you can, and I love it.

The only thing that both services don't have (nor I could find a service that does it) is the ability to upload pictures from your iPad to Instagram. It is probably something that Instagram themselves won't allow.

Techono.me Registration Is Now Open!

On October 25, 2012 you can be a part of the next Israeli company to launch at techono.me. Techono.me is the event where the newest and most interesting Israeli ventures launch their product to an international audience while receiving the support from the local community.
As in years past, we will have writers from The NextWeb (Robin Wauters) and TechCrunch who will cover the contestants and event live as well as participate in the panel.

Our Keynote Speaker is Jay Adelson who is a serial internet entrepreneur. His career includes Netcom, DEC's Palo Alto Internet Exchange, co-founder of Equinix, Revision3 and Digg, and CEO of SimpleGeo, Inc. Adelson was named a member of Time Magazine's Top 100 Most Influential People in the World!

If you are not familiar with Jay's show: Ask Jay, take a look at this video. You can also prepare your questions to Jay as we will have the same format of 'Ask Jay', on stage.

Six new companies will present their new website/application for the first time on stage. The core of the event is to expose and support them. I'm doing Techono.me for the fourth time with Eddy Resnick, joined by a new member to our team, the great Donna Abraham-Griffit! Together we hope to achieve a successful event at least as in previous years.

Registration is now open for all. This year the venue is smaller than the years before so if you're planning to join us, make sure to grab your ticket fast.

Hillel Fuld will be covering the startups for the Huffington.
